The department is currently the largest in terms of the number of Masters and PhD degrees offered. Further, many of its graduates are in senior managerial positions in educational institutions in Kenya and particularly within the university system in Kenya.
For example, three of its members are in senior managerial positions in the university’s central administration-Prof. Gravenir (Deputy Vice-Chancellor Research, Innovation & Outreach), Prof. Mse (Deputy Vice-Chancellor Finance, Planning & Development) and Dr. Karagu (Registrar Finance, Planning & Development). Others are Dr Samwel Waweru (Associate Dean School of Education) and Dr George Onyango (Dean, Digital School of Virtual and Open Learning).
