  • Presented a paper on Education for Rural Development in Tanzania: Conference/Workshop on Teacher Education for Basic Education. Tanzania, November 24 – December 5, 1975. UNESCO/UNICEF Regional Consultant, Nairobi, Kenya 26-28 July, 1976.
  • Chairman and Organizer, Workshop on Childhood Education in Eastern Africa, Kenyatta University College, Nairobi, June 22 – July 1, 1976. Presented a paper on Family Health Education.
  • Chairman and organizer, Workshop on Basic Education in the Semi-Arid Areas of Kenya, Kenyatta University College, Nairobi, Kenya 18-27 December, 1977. And presented a paper on Adult Education for Rural Development in Mainland Tanza Swaziland, Uganda, Zambia and Zimbabwe. A national researcher represented each country and I represented Kenya.
  • Seminar on Afro-German on Higher Education for Development. This seminar took place from 22-27 September, 1980 at the University of Nairobi in the field of Educational and Scientific Development.
  • Presented a paper on Educational Research and Development at Mombasa. The Seminar was sponsored by Rockefeller Foundation and organized by the Bureau of Educational Research, Kenyatta University College.

  • Topic in East African History, H.O. Ayot. (East African Literature Bureau, 1976). Todate more than 15,000 copies of this thematic analysis of the study of history in Eastern Africa have been sold in two editions. Some 30,000 copies are under reprint.
  • Teachers’ Group and Teachers’ Centres in Developing Countries, H.O. Ayot, et al. (University of London), 1977.
  • Historical Texts of the Lake Region of East Africa, H.O. Ayot, (East African Literature Bureau, 1978). This is a book on methodology in social research, which has done very well on the market. The study included indigenous education, assimilation, trade, and colonial education as a process of social change.
  • “Handicapped Children” in Child to Child in Kenya, H.O. Ayot, et al. (Basic Education Resource Centre, Kenyatta University College, 1979).
  • A History of the Luo-Abasuba of Western Kenya, H.O. Ayot, (Kenya Literature Bureau, 1979).
