Regional Seminar on Education, Niamey Niger

Dr Ndiritu John from School of Education attended a Regional Seminar on 10th 2015 in Niamey, Niger. Dr Ndiritu attended the seminar courtesy of invited by JICA and UNESCO/IIEP to give a talk on Current trends in the school grants for basic education (Success and failure): A case of nine selected countries. The seminar whose title was School-Based Management was attended by senior ministry of education official from six francophone countries i.e. Burkina Faso, Ivory Coast, Madagascar, Mali, Niger, and Senegal.

Dr Ndiritu’s invitation was as result of a research project he has been conducting in collaboration with UNESCO/IIEP and UNICEF and spreading to nine countries which include Mongolia, Indonesia, Vanuatu, East Timor, Malawi, Lesotho, Ethiopia, Uganda and Kenya. The project titled The Use and Usefulness of School Grants is currently being replicated in Latin America and Caribbean.
